How'd I manage to forget how long the first day back is? I'm so completely drained and I've still got to sort, copy and staple all this paper work to hand out tomorrow.

OH GOD. I can't do this to them. I can't. Why would they even think to implement these things again? I can't reinforce this without feeling like crap. How is any of this even fair to them? They've done nothing wrong but be happy for once. And now this? Pills, protocols, inspections?

The passport thing was horrible enough, but to go back to this? They're even considering testing the friends these kids left behind at home to see if they aren't 'unnatural', but they won't be able to get that measure passed before the election and hopeful changes in the government. But just the thought of it, that someone is willing to do this to students...

I think I'm going to be sick.

I need Alex to tell me this isn't as bad as it seems.

Why do I do this to myself? Every year I lose half the lesson plans I'd formed the year before and have to start over. I hate having to start over with these. They're tediously boring, and I have to read through all the others to make sure I hadn't planned to do the things I want already.

Half these classes end up being filler classes. Discuss this book, read your poem out loud, etc. If they didn't need to be looked over before the semester begins I'd chuck them all into a shredder.

I know one of you set a firecracker off in the Quad last night. It is not appreciated. Especially when you don't clean up after yourselves. Yes, it's a holiday, but it's no excuse.

If you want to blow your heads off, I'm obligated to point out we've got playing fields for that.

All you Juniors and Sophomores out there who are interested in doing Honors Creative Writing next year, the sign up sheet will be passed around in class tomorrow. If you're not there, and I don't hear a wicked awesome excuse for your absence, you're fresh out of luck.

Also, the Yearbook staff meeting is being held directly after classes let out tomorrow. We need to look over the finalized pages and double check that all the names are spelled correctly. I've just been looking over last year's yearbook. Do we want that to happen again?
